Introducing SCOPE: safety management software for waste, transportation, and logistics operators

What SCOPE is, who uses it, what's in it, and how to see it on your own operation.

SCOPE is safety management software from Lucent Axis Advisors, built for waste, transportation, and logistics operators. It puts safety observations, electronic DVIRs, incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, training, and driver qualification files in one system. Safety leaders, supervisors, and drivers each get their own view of the same records, and TRIR and DART are calculated from them.

The 1-minute SCOPE tour. Turn the sound on. The people and companies shown are invented.

What does SCOPE stand for?

SCOPE stands for Safety, Compliance & Operational Performance Ecosystem. The name describes the job: one system that holds the whole safety program, from the first unsafe condition someone spots to the rate leadership reports at year end. The tagline is the cycle it runs on. Find it. Fix it. Prove it.

Who is SCOPE built for?

SCOPE is built for operators that run trucks, crews, yards, and drivers: haulers, transfer stations, MRFs, and transportation and logistics fleets. Inside those companies it serves three people, the safety leader, the supervisor, and the driver, each with their own view of the same records and only the work that belongs to them.

  • Safety leaders see every site in one picture: incidents, injuries, accidents, lost-time cases, TRIR and DART against industry bands, and follow-through on actions, training, and qualifications.
  • Supervisors see what needs doing today: open corrective actions waiting for sign-off, investigations, and documents and road tests waiting to be checked.
  • Drivers and crews get one-tap DVIR and incident reporting from their device, their on-duty hours for the day, and the training and certificates coming due.

What's included in SCOPE?

SCOPE has six connected parts. Each one replaces a form, a spreadsheet, or an email chain that most safety programs still run on. All six share the same records, so a finding in one turns into work in another without anyone retyping it.

ModuleWhat it does
Incident reporting & investigationsInjuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and near misses reported from the field the same way every time, with witness statements, maintenance history, and root cause in the investigation.
Observations & DVIRsUnsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and pre-trip defects logged the moment they're seen, from any device. DVIRs are checked against the driver qualification file.
Corrective actionsCoaching, housekeeping, maintenance, and training actions, each with an owner, a due date, and a supervisor sign-off. Anything overdue stays at the top of the list.
Training & driver qualificationsSafety training, DOT medical examiner's certificates, licenses, and annual road tests tracked against their deadlines, with renewals flagged months ahead.
Safety KPIs & recordkeepingTRIR, DART, and lost-time rates calculated from your own records and exposure hours, benchmarked against BLS rates for your industry.
Dashboards for every roleA cross-site dashboard for leadership, a task list for supervisors, and a simple daily view for drivers and crews.

How does a finding become a closed corrective action?

In SCOPE, a finding moves from the field to a signed-off fix in four steps: report it, investigate it, assign the fix, and close it out. Each step happens in the same record, so nothing is retyped, nothing is lost in email, and leadership can see where every open item stands.

  1. Report it. A driver or crew member reports the near miss from their device, with photos and severity. The supervisor is notified when it's sent.
  2. Investigate it. The investigation records the root cause, ranks the contributing factors, and flags whether the event is OSHA recordable or DOT reportable.
  3. Assign the fix. The investigation produces a corrective action with an owner, a due date, and who signs it off.
  4. Close it out. The action stays on the owner's list, and rises to the top if it goes overdue, until it's done and signed off.

Why did we build SCOPE?

We built SCOPE because the safety programs we saw didn't lack effort. They lacked follow-through. Observations went unwritten, incidents lived on paper, corrective actions died in email, and certificates expired in a spreadsheet nobody opened. The records never met, so the program couldn't see itself.

Lagging numbers like TRIR tell you what already happened. SCOPE ties them to the leading indicators underneath, the near misses, observations, and DVIR defects, so a safety team can act before the next incident instead of explaining it afterward.

How do you see SCOPE on your own operation?

Book a SCOPE demo. It starts with a 30-minute call about your program, not a generic tour: your sites, your fleet, and where incident, training, and compliance records live today. Then we map where safety data gets lost and where follow-through breaks down. Where SCOPE can help, we show it against your own needs.

Frequently asked questions

Is SCOPE available now?+

Yes. SCOPE is available now, and we are booking demos. Every conversation starts with a 30-minute call about your safety program, and where SCOPE is a fit, we follow up with a demo built around your operation.

Does SCOPE track positive safety observations?+

No. SCOPE logs unsafe acts and unsafe conditions, the observations that point to where the next incident is likely. It does not track positive or recognition observations.

Does SCOPE calculate TRIR and DART?+

Yes. SCOPE calculates TRIR, DART, and lost-time rates from your incident records and exposure hours, and shows them against Bureau of Labor Statistics benchmarks for your industry, such as NAICS 5621 for waste collection.

How does SCOPE work with COFI?+

COFI is our reporting suite. It connects safety data with ERP, labor, and financial systems, so a safety rate like DART sits next to revenue and labor on the same State of the Business dashboard.
